I remember years ago, back in my browsing days of IGN, stumbling across a guy who uploaded a bunch of anime intros videos, and one of my favorites was one of the APACCGNN (I know you can figure that one out)-- if I remember, let's see.... (alright, after re-watching half of the first episode, a few moments of the second episode, I've realized that the music is indeed from the OVA version of All Purpose All Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku.) Yes, it's been a long time since I've actually sat down to watch this beloved classic.

Anyway, there's a few reasons why I really enjoy this anime. It's got some of that old silliness. Mom literally cry gallons of tears, I believe there's one point when the Fourth Wall is broken, and the plot is pretty straight-forward-- which seems to take place during a slightly futuristic/modern era. And although there's only six episodes in the OVA, it's still my favorite version of the three seasons. (But truth be told, the English Voice Actress who played Nuku...well, it kinda hits like fingernails on a chalkboard.)

Back in this time tho, I wasn't techno savvy just yet, so no, I have no idea lol
Back then, I had to save 2 weeks of pocket money to use a PC in a cyber cafe for one hour with not fast but not slow either Internet connection

I'd probably create a better acronym, but then I might end up creating an entirely different anime!

Oh! Okay. Looks like I need some more coffee...
Also, keep in mind, that I discovered this anime in like 2006, more than ten or fifteen years after it was released in the USA? So it was already obsolete by the time I discovered it.
There's just something groovy about the music of these older anime.

That's a really good question. I know that anime started in the USA in the 1960s I think... Speed Racer (Go Mach Number 5) and AstroBoy (I think was it's name...) there were a few others. Anime began to pick up more titles throughout the 1970s and 80s. Then when Sailor Moon hit in like 1995, an explosion of anime entered the USA. Although, take what I say with a grain of salt. I don't know my anime history as well as I probably should as an Otaka.

You're probably correct. I realize that I've totally skipped over the Dragon Ball saga as being very influential in America. But, that's also within the Shonen demographic, and I don't have too much experience watching anime aimed at that demographic. I mostly watch Shoujo.

It may not be all over you, but what I meant is Dragon Ball pathed the way of anime in general in your country, yes? Hehe :>

I think Dragon Ball probably had a similar effect on the male audience that Sailor Moon had on the female audience in the United States. Both shows created an enormous swelling of fans within the medium of anime.

I agree, that happened to my country too

That cat girl anime is a pure madness lol. Old anime have that unserious energy that the modern ones are afraid of. Overacting and every other thing was just too wild. But that’s the charm. Even if voice acting is off, you will still laugh. Nowadays everything is too serious or too polished.
