Are Anime Ratings Manipulated by Fanbases?

Good ratings increase viewership, whereas bad ratings decrease viewership. Some shows get extreme ratings before they even finish the airing. Do you think fans are distorting ratings? Do you rely on reviews to watch a show? Do you think airing platforms should delay ratings until the season ends? Do you think some anime were overrated due to hype?

I'm still quite new to the whole anime thing. When put rants it sure demote it, and when we put plaudits, it may well upvote it. But I can say this, ONE PIECE IS OVERRATED. There. In al honesty. Even tho one of my all time fav characters is from One Piece, ha ha ha

From my experience, some ratings can be very misleading because I've watched some anime that had good ratings in the past but they ended up being trash in my opinion as far as I'm concerned vice versa with anime with bad rating that was good for me. This is why I don't trust fans ratings 100% today.

I get what you mean. Ratings don’t always reflect personal taste. Some lower-rated anime can be really enjoyable depending on what themes or characters you connect with. I think recommendations from friends or just trying a few episodes yourself works better than relying only on scores.

I know my friends who enjoy the kind of anime I do. So, getting recommendations from them will definitely be 100% legit because we love the same thing. I'll take their recommendations first any day from what I see as rating scores.

Yes, without wasting any time at all. I've had more horrible experience using review channels on Facebook and even on YouTube to try and pick something to watch. Overall, they are just average, not up to the hype.

Absolutely. I have a private WhatsApp group where we share what to watch and go ahead to discuss them. It's a very lively space we give back to each other all the time.

We are not many in group. It's just 10 guys with only 2 female. Hopefully, we are going to have more close mates join us from our old days.

Some of mine do as well but we find a way to do what makes us family. Having a family doesn't mean not enjoying yourself anymore.

I believe anything can be manipulated easily. All depends on how far the fanbase is willing to go to execute the manipulation. I always take things with a grain of salt specially when it comes to Ratings and Reviews.

Agreed with Heatman, just because you have family doen't mean not enjoying yourself, it's more about carving out some time during your busy week to do something you like or want to do besides spending it with family.

it's because I consider other shounens that I came to this solution. It may have been one of the bests, but certainly not the best :>

I'm sorry, may I take my word back? One Piece is certainly the best shounen. It's not just occasional comedy regularly embedded, it has a huge world and immersive plotplay of emotions...pls dont be angry with me :>

dw, i'm not offended or angry

One Piece was surely messed up in some part of the cake island arc, but now it's pretty good! i don't remember a bad episode starting from Luffy's last gear evolution.
