Have you thought about learning Japanese?

I have always wanted to visit Japan. At first, I always wanted to visit only Tokyo, but now Osaka is also on my list of cities I wish to visit in Japan.

Not only would I love to visit both Tokyo and Osaka, but I have also considered learning the Japanese language a few times; finding the time has always been a big issue for me.

Have you thought about learning Japanese?

Yes actually! I have tried to learn Japanese in the past, but I always forget about it in 2 days or so. At least I know how to say "mizu to gohan!" (which means water and rice.. or bread.)

Yes! I am currently taking Japanese conversational courses

I learn a few words and phrases here and there but never thought of learning it as a full on language. Heck maybe even picked up a few words from some Anime

Ever tried to use Duolingo to learn Japanese?

Duolingo is entirely free. I think you can pay for a membership for extra features though, but I'm not sure

When I first discovered anime, back in 2002, I later applied for college. Starting in 2004, I began learning Japanese. And I did fairly well. Until my teacher was temporarily replaced by another teacher. I just couldn't connect with what he was instructing so I dropped out after my third semester. I still remember some vocabulary words, but I don't use Japanese enough to really remember much. As neat as it would be to communicate in another language, I feel I don't necessarily need it today. I'm older now. Don't plan on ever traveling halfway around the world, and my memory isn't all that great anymore. And there's Google Translate. Although, I will say that it's really awesome being able to read Hiragana! I may not understand what the words mean, but I can at least sound out the words!
