Hey OtakuForums fam!

I've thinking about ways to grow our community and would love to hear your ideas.
  • Where should we promote (social media, other forums, Discord servers)?
  • What kind of content or events would bring new members in?
  • And what makes OtakuForums worth recommending in the first place?
Share your thoughts below, you know this community better than anyone.

Not sure whether Otaku equals Geeks or Nerds, but since we are in that spectrum and directions, I figure make somthing really really unique. For my part,

1) I am thinking on making review videos on video games and animes, and point them all to this site
2) Like I have planned before, I'd like to make something out of our camaraderie here, by making community RPG where the casts are the active members of this forums
3) I think there's people like me, who were desperately seeking for someone who's gonna resuscitate the golden age of forum once more, and so, there should bound to be lots seekers, we just need to figure out how to shoot the flares up the beacon to attract them. How? Welp, open as many active topics as we can, covering as many stuffs, matters and ideas as we can.
4) Someday, let's enable the blogging function on this forums once we are "crowded enough". Ppl def wanna read and watch more

That's what on my mind for now :>

A growing forum is not just by posting links everywhere. What you should do is to make it feel alive first. If people comes in and see dry threads, they will bounce instantly. You could even add giveaways or contests, people like challenges lol. But the most important thing is consistency. You can't just post today then disappear for one week. The community will just die quietly.

Everyone reacts different, a few years before we had a very small but tight community and it felt like home to me but somehow the "merge" with another community made me go. So please don't do that whatever happens..

I like the idea of contests, giveaways and challenges. Forum games that include doing something (taking pictures, find hidden stuff in the board, etc.) had a lot of success.

Prizes like profile customization, userbars, usernames, titles and secret hideouts work!
