Manga is a really popular Japanese novel and anime content creator. Many people think that manga usually censors really "darker" content. This could be a really hot topic and controversial topic as well, since many people follow and love manga. So, what are your thoughts about this?
Should anime studios stop censoring darker manga content?

I mean, isn't this the entire reason behind the various Ratings Systems governments have enforced? Movies had the whole (G, PG, R, X) thing, Television had the (Y7, T, M, etc, with all their single letter abbreviations for triggering content), Manga has (E, T, OT, M, MA), even video games have a rating system. Oh, and Role Playing games have a tri-scale from 0 to 3 for various Language, Sexuality, and Violence content.
The only reason to censor content is if you're a public broadcast network and you have to "downgrade" the content because of either the Laws/Regulations, or simply not showcase that particular piece of media. And the censorship is really designed to protect the fragile, impressionable minds of young people, like children and teenagers. This is probably one reason why I wouldn't want to be a child again. In the 80s it wasn't bad, but today, the censorship is aggressive.

Well, there are different ratings systems which the government have each content industry which anime is part of have to observe otherwise they risk serious penalties. This is who censorship comes in to control who's going to watch what and etc.

It is difficult to say whether anime studios should stop censoring darker manga content, mainly because different countries have different laws regarding the darker side of manga, and it would run the risk of issues.
Having a rating system per country does help, and I guess censoring the darker side of manga in countries that are stricter, but being more lenient in countries that have a system in place could work, but may be a lot of work for the anime studios.
