Sooooooo.... I've been rewatching the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. A great anime which honestly really did impact the world. I mean, if your sister (given that you actually have one) didn't try to learn the choreography of the opening, what else was she doing?

For those who haven't seen it, don't worry. The show is essentially a regular slice of life anime about a girl named Haruhi Suzumiya (no way, really?) who loves things like aliens and time travel without realising she's actually surrounded by those things. Such a story is told through the perspective of Kyon, an extremely ordinary guy who is dragged into the mess after Haruhi forms the SOS brigade.

Have any of you seen it? What were your thoughts on it? Did you watch it back in the day or just recently?

I personally think it was a great anime. In my opinion, it still holds up as "fresh" due to the way it mixes school life with sci fi so well. Haruhi does get annoying after a while though.

That show is deeper than it seems. The yuki-chan ark to me is the best. The movie was great also, if you only watch the s1 and s2, you might not really get what's going on.

To me is like the evangelion of the 00s.

good friend once recommended me this, many times over. I'll try to take a look at it during spare time

That anime is fun and its vibe is not common. Kyon narration alone would get you into the story proper. But to say the truth, Haruhi herself can frustrate you. 🤣 . Still, that mix of normal school life and the madness hit well to be honest.

Kyoani messed up a bit by adding tons of kawaii stuff to the show, but it's still pretty enjoyable.

The movie is top tier anime.

I haven't heard much about this one, maybe worth taking a look at after reading this thread.
