What is your favorite city in Japan?

Japan has so many amazing cities, which one stole your heart and why? And flip side, which city did you have high hopes for but ended up being a bit meh when you actually got there?

A lot of people might prefer Tokyo as their favorite city in Japan but that's not me at all. Osaka will always be my best because it's more fun than Tokyo. Even in feudal Japan, Osaka was a fantastic place.

Tokyo is very much one place that I love the look of and have over many years wnated to visit for many years, but I have also looked into Osaka, Japan as well, and this is another city I would love to visit too if I ever have the chance.

Unfortunately, in terms of cash needed to travel to both places, it is not something I could do any time soon, but I do hope that I can at least once in my lifetime
