That’s true. Music can be just as memorable as the gameplay, sometimes even more. A good soundtrack kind of “locks” the memories of the game in place, so whenever you hear it again, it takes you right back. The GTA San Andreas track is still in my head till today. Also, some FIFA soundtracks from the early 2010s are great too. At least for nostalgia. Music makes some games more memorable, sometimes more than the gameplay.
quoted by every absorbed gamer ever :>I am a huge fan of Doom game tracks. The soundtracks of the Doom game are just exceptionally phenomenal. I have been playing this game for a while and no other game's soundtrack can come closer to Doom.
FFVIII is like one of the greatest games ever to grace the Earth and I still don't get it why fans of rpgs alike hate the game so much, so much so they'd wish it was never added into the franchise. what gives?Oh my gooosh, an FFVIII reference! Yesss!!
Honestly... when I like one song from a game, I like almost all of the songs, or so many it's not worth linking them all. So, I'll just list the games of whose albums I like:
- Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (it's so calming, I listen to this all the time)
- Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
- Final Fantasy VIII
- .hack//GU
- NieR Gestalt
- NieR Automata
- Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life
- Stardew Valley
Some specific singles:
- FFXIV: Hades' Theme, Sophia's Theme, "La Hee" (most of the Shadowbringer songs tbh)
- FFVII: Cosmic Canyon (if I got the name right), Aerith's theme, Victory Fanfare
- Ookami: I can't remember the names of them, but there are certain ones I really like from this game, too
- Cyberpunk 2077: I really want to go to your house, all the ambient tracks, Night City, West Coast till I die
Yeah, I feel like if they're an FF7 fan, it makes no sense as to why they're not an FF8 fan because they're in the same vein, but I think it's because the junction system is so broken. You have to break it very early on in order to beat the final boss, because the final boss literally eats all of your magic of certain levels depending on your level. I managed to keep my level at 13, and it was still brutal. Took me over an hour to beat. But even with that, the story is brilliant: agreed, it's one of the best stories ever with fantastic character development.FFVIII is like one of the greatest games ever to grace the Earth and I still don't get it why fans of rpgs alike hate the game so much, so much so they'd wish it was never added into the franchise. what gives?
To me it has the best story ever, character developments that are very dynamic. And gosh, even the Eyes on Me is very heartwarming
